Meet Our President
Denise G. Burnett, RN, BSN, has been the owner and President of O.R. Nurses, Inc. since 1990. Her passion for nursing developed when she was just 20 years old during a church mission trip to Nairobi, Kenya. Denise soon graduated with her BSN from Maryville College in St. Louis, MO, and moved to Memphis, TN, where she began working as an O.R. nurse. She later became a nursing instructor at Baptist Hospital School of Nursing and quickly forged deep ties with the Memphis medical community.
In 1988, her nursing passion and entrepreneurial spirit enabled her to launch a perioperative nurse staffing agency, alongside her friend and colleague Carol Paterson. Soon after the birth of O.R. Nurses, Inc., Carol sadly died of ovarian cancer, leaving Denise to uphold their vision of staffing excellence. Now, more than 20 years later, their vision has blossomed into a bustling corporation, staffing hundreds of diversified medical professionals locally and nationally each year.
When Denise is not at work, she enjoys reading, spending time with friends and family and swimming. She has completed five triathlons, but can’t keep up with her husband, Randy, who placed in the World Triathlon competition in Australia in 2009. Another interest she shares with her husband, son Jerrod, son Bryan and daughter-in-law Casey is being active in their church.
Denise’s business philosophy is based on her adherence to these guiding principles:
